Shades Of Beauty At The Salmon River
Dan Cook was the President of the LDS Riggins Idaho Branch for, we believe, over two decades.  Dan met his wife, Beata, in Germany when Dan was in the Air Force.
They have made a home along the Salmon River Canyon after traveling throughout the world as part of Dan's career in the Air Force.

Once again we've experienced another's "little bit of heaven" in the Cook's home which they designed themselves, their swimming hole on the Salmon, Dan's miniature railroad, Beata's German cooking, their horses, mules, and beautiful pasture.

Dan and Beata's friends and fellow branch members, Don and Jennifer Esslinger, brought us way back into the canyon to the Cook's home.  According to Dan, Don Esslinger is one of the best backpacking guides in the United States.  Jennifer also is an outdoors person who has worked for the U.S. Forest Service and also been a wilderness guide.  Notice Jennifer's coyote cap.  One of the most unique experiences Christine had this day was to feel the coyote tail on Jennifer's cap.  It felt so thick and furry.
