Blast From The Past
Jim Camp, a member of the Council Ward, gave us a two hour tour of the Council Valley Museum!
In the  past, the railroad came right through Council. Logging, mining, and large fruit orchards, mainly apples, were in full production. Now things have changed and Council is experiencing a depressed economy.
The Council Valley Museum was organized through the efforts of the local citizens with one person having had experience working in a large museum.  In our opinion, they did a stupendous job!
One of the prominent citizens in Council was a widow who became a  dentist.  She practiced dentistry in Council until she was in her 80's!  Because she allowed her chickens, dogs, and other pets to wander around in the office and because she refused to comply with removing them, her license was revoked.  She lived to be 101 years old!
